On October 28, 2023, the Feast of Sts. Simon and Jude, Fr. John Lucas, Provincial Vicar of the St. Matthew Province presided over the mission send-off of Fr. Ruel Desamparado and Fr. Edgar Dacaldacal at the chapel of the St. Hannibal Formation Center in Cebu.
The send-off Mass was attended by some members of the religious community in Cebu. In his homily, Fr. John Lucas emphasized the missionary aspect of being a Rogationist. The missionary spirit comes from the heart of Jesus to respond to the needs of the times.
The two religious priests will go on mission in Australia. Father Desamparado will leave on October 29, while Father Dacaldacal will leave the following day, October 30.
We all wish them a successful and joyful journey in Australia to join the other five Rogationists who are working in the Archdiocese of Melbourne and the Diocese of Sandhurst both in the State of Victoria, bringing with them the radiant charism of the ROGATE and the joy and beauty of being a Rogationist religious priest.
