5 luglio 2020 – La nostra nascita è fondamentalmente quella del Battesimo, nella quale nasciamo alla vita eterna, che si compie quando il Signore ci chiama, ma siamo grati al Signore anche per la nostra chiamata alla vita terrena. Auguri, quindi, al nostro Padre Fondatore con il quale attendiamo di riunirci un giorno.

Con profondo dolore, apprendiamo stamani la notizia della scomparsa del Sig. Antonio Gigante, comunicataci dal Presidente Nazionale dell'Unione Ex Allievi Domenico Doronzo. Di Antonio, Presidente storico degli Ex Allievi Rogazionisti di Trani, si è da tutti potuto apprezzare l'entusiasmo, l'attaccamento al Padre Fondatore e alla Congregazione dei Rogazionisti, la gioia contagiosa e la condotta esemplare. Antonio, a 72 anni compiuti, ha lasciato la moglie Giulia (Liliana) Di Bari e il figlio Vito dopo una lunga malattia.

Il giorno 29 giugno, solennità dei Santi Pietro e Paolo, due postulanti provenienti dal nostro Seminario di Tonalà (Jalisco, Mexico), Armando Nicolás Lázaro e Juan Reyes, dopo più di un anno di postulandato, sono entrati in noviziato, nelle Filippine.

Nel nostro seminario di Ribang - Maumere (Indonesia) è stata collocata una lapide in ringraziamento del contributo offerto dalla Signora Lucia Ferrazzano, in memoria di suo fratello Sig. Nicola Ferrazzano. La lapide commemorativa è stata recentemente collocata all'entrata della cappella del seminario, dopo essere stata svelata alcuni mesi fa, nell'ocassione della visita canonica di P. Orville Cajigal, Superiore Provinciale, il 16 novembre 2019.

2 luglio 2020 - L’Isola misteriosa, come la Trilogia Romana dello stesso autore, è composta da tre racconti, concatenati l’uno all’altro, che ci offrono un affresco di vita e cultura siciliana prima e dopo il terremoto di Messina del 28 dicembre 1908. I protagonisti sono figure storiche, come sant’Annibale Maria Di Francia, Sir Alexander Nelson Hood, discendente del celebre ammiraglio, e un professore di igiene di Catania di cui l’autore non fa il nome, ma ha caro il ricordo.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect lives and disrupt the daily living of many people, the Communities of the St. Matthew Province (SMP) made some initiatives in adapting to the “new normal,” and at the same time, to respond to the needs of their neighbor that affected by this crisis. Here are some of the community initiatives which took place between April to May 2020. This article is an update to the 1^st of a series, which featured the activities from February to March 2020.

Taking advantage of the period of the General Community Quarantine, while following the prescribed cautionary measures, Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Superior, did the Canonical Visit to the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish on June 1-2, 2020. The encounter was highlighted with personal dialogue with each of the members of the religious community, and with prayers, which were mostly live-streamed to ensure continuous evangelization of the faithful while staying at their respective homes. Bro.

From June 3-5, 2020, Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Superior, did the Canonical Visit to the St. Hannibal Empowerment Center (SHEC),observing prescribed precautions while the area is under General Community Quarantine. Personal dialogue with each of the members of the religious community, and prayers highlighted the visit. Fr. Cajigal also had the opportunity to have an encounter with the staff of the religious community and the SHEC as a social welfare and development agency. Bro.

Today, on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, June 29, 2020 the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus – St. Matthew Province rejoices to receive, for the first time, the religious vows of 12 Novices, and to admit 10 Postulants for the Novitiate in a solemn Eucharistic celebration held at the Oasis of Prayer, Silang, Cavite.
