January 24 - Benefactors’s gathering
We were elated to have our benefactors with us in our Novitiate house on January 24, 2016. A warm welcome was extended to each one of them who wholeheartedly came forward to assist us financially in our journey to holiness through the religious life. The gathering was commenced with a prayerful atmosphere by reciting the Divine Mercy Rosary being participated by each one of them. It was followed by a bountiful dinner being served by the novices under the guidance of Frs. Shibu Kavunkal and Vimal Kallookkaran. Fr. Shibu availed this opportunity to introduce our congregation and her mission in the church while welcoming every one of them to this grand gathering. An emotional and heartfelt thanks giving speech delivered by Mr. Merwin D’Cruz, one of our benefactors added fillip to the gathering. Thank you one and all and May the Christ of the Rogate bless you all!
January 31 - The Grand Supplica
A day to thank the Lord Almighty for the graces that the whole Rogate family received in the previous year and to raise our supplications for more graces for the years to come, trusting in the Divine words: ‘Whatever you ask in my name will be granted to you’. In the Solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Shibu Kavunkal, he narrated to us the historical background of this great feast started by our Holy Founder, St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia in 1888 and related to us its significance even during our time. The Great Supplica was started at 6.30 in the evening with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, being participated by the whole Gurudarsan community. The main celebrant of the said celebration was Fr. Shibu Kavunkal, our Superior and Novice Master.Â

In the humble chapel of the St. Hannibal Rogate Center, on February 1, 2016, Fr. King Cena himself presided over the morning Eucharistic celebration, within which Fr. Herman Abcede, the Provincial Superior, conferred him the missionary cross, in a simple rite of Mission Send Off to Vietnam. He shall join Fr. Noel Balquin in that Missionary Station, with the Vietnamese religious brothers, aspirant and discerners. Present and concelebrated during the liturgy where, Fr. Orville Cajigal, the Provincial Councilor on Mission and Charity, Fr. John Lucas, Fr. Alfonso Flores and Fr. Rodolfo Patiag, Jr.. The event was witnessed by the other members of the community and their daily early Holy Mass goers. May the good Lord, who himself sent his first missionaries be his constant guide and model.
