(14 December) A 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Flores Island in Indonesia around 11:20 a.m. local time (04:20 a.m. Italian time) with the epicenter recorded about 91 kilometers north of Maumere, in Indonesia. There were three strong jolts lasting for about 30 seconds prompting a tsunami warning that frightened people to escape to higher grounds.
