It may be unknown to many of you that SABV-Davao produces its newsletter "The Providence" since June 2016. I am now sending you the June 2017 issue of our newsletter, The Providence. It is the first issue of its second year of publication. may this endeavor make each of us get in touch with and appreciate our apostolate among the poor boys whose prayers are always favored by the Divine Providence through the intercession of St. Anthony of Padua.

Dearest, This coming July 24 (Monday) we will be commemorating the 7th Death Anniversary of our dear Fr. Joseph Aveni. It is a good occasion to remember his exemplary life, to thank him for the precious teachings he left us and to share memories and experiences from those whose lives have been touched by him.
For this occasion the Rogationist St. Matthew Province is inviting all to a Eucharistic Celebration before his tomb at the Manila Memorial Park, Parañaque City. There will be also the presentation and distribution of his Short Biography and prayer cards.

Through the efforts of Fr. Viktor Emmanuel Aurellana, in his capacity as In-Charge of the Pastoral Institute on Vocation Ministry, assisted by Rev. Zander Conson and in coordination with Fr. Ariel Tecson, the Provincial Councilor on the Sector Religious Life, Formation and Pastoral Care for Vocations, the first of a series of four Workshops on the Formation of Formators was held on July 15-16, 2017 at the Oasis of Prayer in Lalaan II, Silang, Cavite.

Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - On June 23, 2017, the Rogationist Mission at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in Sidea, Papua New Guinea celebrated the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Mass presided by Fr. In view of the ongoing celebration of the 40 years of presence of the Rogationists in the Philippines, the St. Matthew Province prepared for the celebration of the Feast of July the First with a 40-hour Eucharistic Adoration. It is worth recalling that it was during a 40-hour Adoration at the Church of St. John of Malta in Messina, Sicily, Italy, that the young Hannibal was inspired by the Eucharistic Lord about the charism of the Rogate.

Sideia - On June 13, 2017, Feast of St Anthony of Padua the Rogationist Missionaries organized the St Anthony's Sharing which coincides with the transfer and blessing of the new St Anthony's Elementary School, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish. The celebration started at 5:00 pm with the Holy Mass which was presided by Fr Henry Ramos, RCJ. The sharing happened after the Holy Mass at the Parish. All the elementary students of Sideia and Tegelauna, St Anthony's Boarding Boys and 13 families from Sideia and Tegelauna received St Anthony's blessings on that day.

In a simple rite of Mission Send Off to the Missionary Station of Indonesia, which was incorporated in the Eucharistic liturgy, presided over by Fr. John Joffer Lucas, the Provincial Vicar, Fr. Elmer Dula was conferred his missionary cross - the sign of Christ's love and man's faith on June 28, 2017 at the Fr. Hannibal Formation Center. Fr. Dula, who was for some years a missionary to Papua New Guinea, is replacing Fr. Breynard Peji, who himself generously served the said mission in Indonesia for over a decade and is now set to pursue further studies in Rome, Italy.

As we continue the Novena in preparation for the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, may we share to you the latest issue of the supplementary leaflet of the "Friends of Fr. Joseph Aveni", vol. 2, no. 6 for this month of June 2017. Surely, Fr. Aveni left us a shining example of a "shepherd according to the heart of God".
