Quest'anno, la Provincia San Matteo (PSM) ha organizzato gli esercizi spirituali annuali in comune per sacerdoti e diaconi, guidati da monsignor Broderick Pabillo, vicario apostolico di Taytay, Palawan. Il corso si è tenuto all'Oasis of Prayer - Rogate Center of Spirituality a Silang, Cavite, e ha visto la partecipazione di due gruppi: il primo dal 9 al 13 giugno e il secondo dal 16 al 20 giugno 2025.
Ogni giorno, il programma si è concentrato su diversi temi spirituali e pastorali. I partecipanti hanno descritto il programma come stimolante e profondamente rigenerante. Hanno affermato che è stato reso ancora più speciale dalla serenità naturale dell'Oasis of Prayer, dalla cucina salutare e dai momenti di fraternità condivisi con i sacerdoti e i fratelli.
L'ultimo giorno del corso per il secondo gruppo, il vescovo Pabillo ha espresso la sua gratitudine per avergli affidato il ruolo di predicatore degli esercizi. Ha lodato la comunità per la sua apertura e partecipazione attiva alla preghiera. Anche P. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, superiore provinciale della PSM, ha ringraziato il vescovo Pabillo per la sua presenza e tutti i membri della PSM per la loro partecipazione attiva al ritiro. Il vescovo Pabillo è stato professore di Bibbia per molti Rogazionisti che hanno studiato alla Facolta' di Teologia Don Bosco di Paranaque affiliata alla Universita' Pontificia Salasiana di Roma.
Un evento importante che ha segnato la fine del ritiro è stata la firma di un protocollo d'intesa (MOA) tra i Rogazionisti - Provincia San Matteo e il Vicariato Apostolico di Taytay, Palawan. Questo accordo rappresenta un'ulteriore collaborazione nella missione pastorale e un sostegno reciproco. Recentemente, i Rogazionisti hanno accettato una missione parrocchiale rurale nel Vicariato Apostolico di Taytay.
Il corso si è concluso con una rinnovata forza spirituale e un rafforzamento del senso di comunità. Con il cuore pieno di gioia, i partecipanti sono tornati alle loro comunità.
Questi esercizi spirituali fanno parte del triennio di preparativi e celebrazioni per il 50° anniversario della presenza dei Rogazionisti nelle filippine, che si terranno dal 2024 al 2026. Il tema è “Bukas-Palad (Palma aperta): La grazia della carità: approfondire il Rogate come carità".
St. Matthew Province: Common Annual Retreat
This year, the Saint Matthew Province (SMP) organized common annual spiritual exercises for priests and deacons, guided by Bishop Broderick Pabillo, Apostolic Vicar of Taytay, Palawan. The retreat took place at the Oasis of Prayer - Rogate Center of Spirituality in Silang, Cavite, with two groups attending: one from June 9-13 and the other from June 16-20, 2025.
Each day, the retreat focused on different spiritual and pastoral themes. Participants described the retreat as inspiring and deeply renewing. They said it was made even more beautiful by the natural serenity of the Oasis of Prayer, the healthy and nourishing meals, and the fraternal spirit shared among the priests and brothers.
On the final day of the second group's retreat, Bishop Pabillo expressed his gratitude for being entrusted with the role of retreat preacher. He commended the community for their openness and prayerful participation. Father Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Superior of SMP, also expressed his gratitude to Bishop Pabillo for his presence and to all the SMP members for their active participation in the retreat. Bishop Pabillo was the Bible professor of many Rogationists who studied at the Don Bosco School of Theology in Paranaque, affiliated with the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome
A significant event marking the retreat’s conclusion was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Rogationists of the Saint Matthew Province and the Apostolic Vicariate of Taytay, Palawan. This agreement signifies a deepening collaboration in pastoral mission and mutual support. Recently, the Rogationists accepted a rural parish mission in the Apostolic Vicariate of Taytay.
The retreat concluded with renewed spiritual strength and communal joy. With hearts uplifted, the participants returned to their communities.
These retreats are part of the triennium of preparations (2024 to 2026) and celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Rogationist Presence in the Philippines in 2026. The theme is “Bukas-Palad (Open Palm): The Grace of Charity: Deepening the Rogate as Charity.”
