Madridejos, Bantayan Island, Cebu — The Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus, St. Matthew Province, marked a historic and grace-filled moment on November 15, 2025, as three deacons were ordained to the Sacred Order of Presbyters at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Madridejos. Rev. Benny Giltendez Caraos, RCJ, Rev. Aldine Narisma Colago, RCJ, and Rev. Roderick Oflas Fernandez, RCJ received the gift of priesthood through the laying on of hands of Most Rev. Herman Abcede, RCJ, D.D., who presided as the ordaining prelate.
During his homily, Bishop Herman addressed the newly ordained with a heartfelt exhortation: “Whenever you minister to the people, let them feel the presence of Christ… who is tender, gentle, and humble.”
This milestone holds special significance for Immaculate Conception Parish as it marks the first time three priests were ordained together on its church. The event also coincided with the beginning of the parish’s three-year journey of preparation toward its centennial celebration.
The faithful from across the island, together with members of the Family of the Rogate, gathered in joyful witness to this momentous occasion. The ordination likewise served as a highlight of the opening of MAPAPALAD: Grace of the Laity, a major initiative within the nationwide Triennium Preparation for the 50th Anniversary of the Rogationists’ Presence in the Philippines.
With grateful hearts, the community offers thanks to the Lord of the Harvest for the gift of priestly and religious vocations. This celebration stands as a renewed call to young people—especially young men—to listen deeply and respond with courage to God’s invitation.
