Pope Francis visits Srilanka

Dear Conferrers,Our Holy Father arrived today (13/01/2015) at 10 am in Colombo Airport for two days pastoral visit. He was warmly welcomed by the new President Maitripala Sirisena, cabinet ministers and College of Bishops and Buddhist monks and other prominent persons. He will have his lunch at Colombo Bishop's house where he will meet all the Bishops. He will then proceed to Presidential Palace and in the Evening he will address in the inter religions forum. Tomorrow morning will be the main holy Mass where he will canonize Blessed Joseph Vaz, the first missionary (from India) to Srilanka. From there he will proceed to one of the famous shrine of Our Lady at Madu where lot of war affected people stay. In the evening he will proceed to Manila, other destination of of his pastoral visit.  Let us join the people of Lanka to thank the Lord and seek his blessings.
